Certified Inspection Staff

Solmet NDT Inspectors are Certified Level II and Level III according to ASNT SNT-TC-1A and NAS 410.

Magnetic Particle Inspection

Magnetic materials up to 48" in length and up to 500 lbs. can be inspected in our 2 full wave DC mag machines. These machines use the wet, continuous method described in ASTM E1444. Solmet also offers mag inspections in the field using either AC or DC contact probes.

Contact Ultrasonic Inspection

Metallic samples, mill product, bar stock, billets or finished parts can be ultrasonically inspected using either straight-beam or shear wave methods. State-of-the-art programmable digital ultrasonic test units and a wide variety of transducers ensure that every inspection is tailored specifically to the object being inspected. Discontinuities can be located and positions triangulated for destructive evaluation to drive problem solving and continuous process improvement initiatives. Inspection methods and acceptance criteria per industry specification or your custom requirements. Level III assistance in development of methodology and acceptance is also available.
